Gold and Silver

Over at Frosted Designs this week there is a Silver and Gold challenge. I normally don't put these two colours together, but hey I am game to try anything once! So here is what I created.

Using Sketches

Do you use sketches very often when you scrap? I must admit I struggle with sketches but I love the challenge of using them. I struggle because I take them literally and can't think outside of the box when using them. If you love sketches then why not hop over to Let's Scrap. They have weekly sketch challenges and a huge library of sketches to troll through.
This is what I have done for this weeks sketch.

Off The Rails Scrapbooking - New Challenge

Yeah!!!! The time is finally here for the first challenge over at Off The Rails Scrapbooking.

Acetate

Use Acetate on your creation - you can do anything you like - do a layout, a card or even an Off The Page item. Here is what I created.

I had so much fun with this. The acetate on this layout are the pieces with the chevron pattern on them. I stamped them, spritzed them and dribbled paint on them. It was so much fun.

I would love to see what you create. So pop on over to Off The Rails Scrapbooking  for some fantastic inspiration and to enter what you create. You have until December 12, 2013 9:00am EST to enter your project.

Thanks for popping by today

Fussy Cutting

Have you tried Fussy Cutting yet? It takes a bit longer, but the effect is amazing. I just love it, but admit I have to be in the mood to 'slow down' and do it. I am a very impatient scrapper, and love to use pre-made embellishments etc., and I hate waiting for paint and mists to dry. But sometimes you just have to take the slower road and let your creativity flow.

Enchanted Creations

Enchanted Creations

On this layout I fussy cut the flowers and the lady. This was a page dedicated to my mums love of sewing. When she was younger she used to make her own  clothes and also my clothes when I was little. She tried to share the love with me when I was growing up, but I just couldn't get the hang of it. I so wish I had of perservered though because I  just loved having one off designer clothes when I was little and wish I could of shared that with my daughter.

Well I hope I have inspired you to get creating.
Thanks for popping by today.
Have a scrap happy day.

OOh la la

Well today I have some definite 'OOh La La' to share with you. Recently I was given the opportunity to work with a Whimsy Stamps stamp. I have previously shown a sneak peek of this project, but here is the complete card.

Enchanted Creations

Enchanted Creations

These are such great stamps. This one is called 'Bathing Beauty'. But the opportunity also posed a dilemma for me. I knew I had to colour it somehow and the last time I tried colouring I got very frustrated. I am happy to report that this time I had a much more pleasant experience to which I can put down to using different pens. I think I have blogged about this before. I don't like Copic's so sold what I had and bought some Spectrum Noir's. I find that for me they are easier as I don't need as many pens to get the same effect.

Well you be the judge, but don't look to closely at the colouring, I am only a beginner......

Thanks for popping over.
Have a scrap happy day.

Ombre

Have you noticed lately that there is a lot of Ombre everywhere??  I see it in cakes, accessories for the home and even on layouts. So when an Ombre challenge was announced a little while back over at Let's Scrap, I thought why not give it a go.

I think I nailed the Ombre in the torn paper background, but  the rest of it.....ughhhh. I really don't like this layout at all. But I am not one to hide away from my failures....LOL...so thought I would show you this one as well. Nothing seems to gell and it just looks like a dogs breakfast to me...lol...Oh well, onwards and upwards.

Thanks for visiting today, and I expect I haven't given you much inspiration today, more of a lesson in what not to do...LOL

Happy scrapping.

Another beautiful "Sea Breeze"

Today I have another layout to share that I have made using the fabulous "Sea Breeze" October Scrapbooking Kit from Frosted Designs.

It is not very often I do a layout of my husband, and I'm not sure why that is. But some of the papers and embellishments in this kit were perfect for this particular photo. I think he was quite chuffed that I chose to do a layout on him.

Here is a reminder of whats in the kit. It is fantastic. Stay tuned for layouts 3 and 4 soon.

Spectrum Noir Pens - It is love!!!!!

Recently I purchased some Spectrum Noir Pens. It was not an easy decision as I have tried Copic colouring in the past and hated it!!! It was just all too fiddly and it seemed like I neaded thousands of pens to  get the right combinations. And it seemed to take like 6 pens to get one thing shaded correctly. So it was with great trepidation that I forked over the cash.

I know I have probably offended the Copic lovers out there by now and suspect they have stopped reading and left. That is not my intention, but what I have found a lot in the craft community is that there are certain things that can divide us. And one of them is the dang colouring pens.....

Anyway I opened the packets with glee and thought wow these don't look so confusing after all. And after a couple of hours of practising and mixing colours I think I had the hang of it.

I had people telling me to go here and look there and watch this and that, but I can be stubborn at times, and I just ignored all of it....LOL. I watched one YouTube video and then was off.

This is a sneak peak of what I achieved. I can't show you the whole thing as it is for a challenge that hasn't been released yet. But I was really chuffed with my first time effort. And it only took an afternoon. What do you think?? But don't look too closely... I am only learning...LOL

Thanks for popping  by today.

Narelle
