Chipboard Challenge

Today I was doing some tidying up and came across a layout I forgot to show you. This was one done back over the Easter weekend. It was for a challenge where we had to include chipboard from a certain company.
Enchanted Creations

The only chipboard I could find from that company was this Ballet heading. I have no idea why I even had it as my daughter has never done any dancing. But then I remembered that she used to pretend she was a Ballerina when she was about 2 - 3 years of age. It was so cute. She used to put her hands over her head and say she was a ballerina.

I love the layered look of this layout using lots of different patterned papers. Not normally my style to mix patterns, but there is nothing like stepping outside of your comfort zone every so often.

I hope you like it and it gives you some inspiration to do a layout some time soon.

Thanks for popping by.
Have a scrap happy day.

A Sketch Challenge

Another challenge over the Easter weekend at the online event, was a sketch challenge.

Here is the sketch.

I flipped it as my heading fitted in the with the photos that way. So here is my interpretation of it.

I love how bright and vibrant this page is. And see that heading - Crazy Days of Summer - well I have had that in my stash for at least 5 years. I love using up my stash and finding the hidden gems like this heading just waiting to be used. I am even more determined to use up my stash now instead of buying all the latest out there.

Thanks for popping by.

Hold onto your hats....

....I scrapped a page. Well a few actually.

There was a Facebook Scrap At Home Retreat Event...wow that's a mouthful...over the Easter long weekend. And I participated. I managed to complete the whole 6 challenges. I am still amazed.

The first challenge was a Bingo game. Out of a grid of 9 options, you had to choose a row or column and include the three items in it on your page. I chose a row which had patterned paper, washi tape and string/twine. Here is what I came up with.

I haven't bought any scrapping supplies in a long, long time. I already have enough to open my own shop. And I am determined to not buy any more until I have used a lot of what I already have.  So the paper in this layout is quite a few years old now. It is by Kaisercraft and if I remember correctly, this is probably  the third or fourth  layout I have done using this series.

I think this turned out ok.

I am not even going to bother putting a list of supplies I used because you wouldn't be able to buy them anyway as they are all quite a few years old.

I hope you like what I created. Not bad I think since I haven't scrapped in over 12 months.

Thanks for popping over and have a great day.

Off The Rails - Chipboard

Hi everyone,

So sorry for being a slacker and not posting for a while. Life sometimes gets in the way. But I am back now. {.....and the crowd goes wild.....}  LOL

Today I have for you a new challenge over at Off The Rails Scrapbooking. Chipboard. That's it, nice and simple, so no excuses to not give this challenge a go. Here is my inspiration.

There are 4 pieces of chipboard on this layout - the two swirls and the two butterflies. I coloured each with Gelli Pens and then gave each a coat of Glossy Accents. I love how they turned out. The Gelli Pens give them a sparkly look, totally changes their appearance.

You know I have a confession to make. I had completely forgotten that I needed to do this layout. And when I was reminded by the lovely admin, I was already a day late...oops. So would you believe that it took me just half an hour to make this layout. Nothing like a missed deadline to get the creative juices flowing.

I had no idea of what I was going to do, so I went to my chipboard box and picked out a couple of pieces. When I picked these swirls and butterflies that I had already coloured and glossed, I knew the exact papers that I wanted to use with them. Next was choosing the photo. I knew I had some old photos in my stash as  vintage was the look I was going for. And I found this photo. This was me as a baby on my Christening day, wow that was 40+ years ago...you think I'm going to tell you exactly how old I am.....lol...think again. My mum is on the left in blue, then my godparents - Aunty Bernice, Aunty Daph and Uncle Norm. Look at the hat and gloves on the ladies, wow, I would love to go back to that. I love the style of the 50's and 60's, so demure.

I hope I have given you some inspiration and you are revved up to enter this challenge. As always, there are great prizes on offer.

Thanks for popping by today, and have a scrap happy day.
Cheers,
Narelle

Life Doesn't Have To Be Perfect To Be Wonderful

I love the title I have put on this page - Life Doesn't Have To Be Perfect To Be Wonderful. It sums up our little family just beautifully.

This layout I have done for the sketch challenge over at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge.

We may not have the most manicured garden in the street, or the tidiest house. We have a special needs child and a limited budget. BUT we have each other and that is all that matters. And our little family is forever grateful to this man, my husband and father of our children, for just being there.  Many families with special needs children often implode and seperate. Don't get me wrong, it hasn't always been easy, but we are both devoted to each other and our children. My husband may not always get it right, but you can guarantee that he will always put a smile on our faces. And for that reason I chose the title of this page. Our life is far from perfect, but we have something wonderful that I would not change for the world.

Thanks for dropping by today and I hope I have inspired you to perhaps scrap a page on someone that is special to you.

Cheers,
Narelle

This is my daughter, who by  the way is now 9. I am sure I have scrapped these photos before, but my style changes and my confidence keeps growing, so I like to scrap photos again to see my scrapping progression. And I definitely don't scrap in chronological order either. I still haven't scrapped my wedding photos from 15 years ago.

I hope you like what I have created.
Thanks for popping  by.
